Dave Winer points out that as Google moves people from Google Reader to Google Plus and Google Now, they, like FaceBook (Edge Rank) and Twitter (who so far is just nudging newbies toward brands/celebrities but not yet filtering/prioritizing) will be in the business of prioritizing your Universal Inbox, rather than giving you control.
